Students Rules  
OVERVIEW
Discipline, the gist of life is inevitable for the success of an organization. It costs nothing but pays rich dividends. A school is one place where the seeds of Discipline are sown in a child. Here, at DAVCPS, we make every possible effort to make our students imbibe this precious virtue as an integral part of their personality. So as a part of this prestigious institution, it becomes obligatory on the part of every student to adhere to the rules and regulations of the school.
 
Upholding Discipline
Self-discipline is the forte of the school
  • The school begins at 7:50 AM in summer and 8:50 AM in winter for students of classes I-XII. All students are expected to reach school before the bell rings.
  • After arrival time school gates will be closed and no entry will be permitted.
  • Reporting time for students of classes Pre Nursery is 9:00 AM in Summers and 10:00 AM in winters and reporting time for students of classes Nursery to UKG is 8:30 AM in summer and 9:30 AM in winter 
  • Those who are habitually late, they will be penalized.
  • School uniform is a discipline in itself and should be adhered to by all students. Students are expected to wear the proper uniform as specified by the school and in proper manner.
  • Students are advised to keep their classrooms / school building / campus neat and clean. Waste material and leftovers must be thrown into the dustbins only.
  • Students should observe polite civil behaviour. Shouting, bullying or use of foul language is forbidden.
  • Under no pretext should a student miss any teaching / games / activity period. In case a teacher is absent alternate arrangements are made by the time table in charge.

Warnings:

  • The following disciplinary measures can be adopted by the school:
  • Communication to the parents will be given if the students is absent for 2 days.
  • In the first instance, a student will be warned for missing classes, reporting late to class, constantly interrupting the teaching process and indulging in rude and unacceptable behavior in the class room. The concerned teacher will report to the class teacher for detention during break. 
  • Parents will be called to the school if a student indulging in serious offences like bunking, destroying or damaging school property, bursting crackers, using unfair means in the examinations, disobedience and violence in any form. Such a student will not be allowed to attend any programme like picnics or outings. 
Attendance / Leave / Absence
  • Student's leave has to be approved by the appropriate authority.
  • Medical certificate is necessary in case of absence for more than three days due to sickness.
  • Repeated absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than 10 consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may be granted only on payment of fresh admission fee.
  • It is compulsory for students to complete 80% of their attendance in the academic year to make them eligible to appear for their final examination. The percentage, however, could be relaxed on medical grounds.
  • Mandatory minimum attendance for classes IX - XII is 75% as per CBSE guidelines.
  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or defiance of authority, lack of sufficient improvement in studies and conduct even after warnings or conduct injurious to the moral tone of the school are sufficient reasons for expulsion of a student.
  • Appreciation Certificates are awarded to students of classes Pre Nur - XII for maintaining 100 % attendance throughout the academic year.
  • Only Security is refundable within 45 days directly after leaving school.

Behaviour / Deportment / Speech 

  • Keep your class room clean; throw waste paper(s) into the Waste paper baskets only.
  • Be ready to pick up good habits and shun bad ones; learn the social manners and prepare yourself
  • Study diligently and attentively in the class room, never waste your time while at School.
  • for healthy citizenship in a democratic society.
  • Be courteous, respectful and considerate to the parents, teachers, visitors and the school-mates.
  • Always be thankful. "Please and Thank you" are the key words in human behaviour; adopt them as a matter of habit.
  • Be ready to lend a helping hand at home to parents, brothers and sisters, at School to teachers and companions.

School Property

  • Look after School property
  • Help to keep it clean and avoid all pencil/ ink marks on the walls and furniture.
  • Any loss or damage caused to the School property shall have to be made good by the students responsible for it.
  • Any damage / breakage to the school property by the student will have to be borne by the student's parents/ guardians.

Students should not —

  • be late for the School.
  • bring objectionable literature.
  • writing or drawing anything on the walls / school furniture / library books.
  • Scribbling or writing anything on the school uniform.
  • bringing costly or undesirable articles to school like Cell Phones, CDs, Video Cassettes, Cameras, costly watches and gold ornaments. The school authorities will not be responsible for such loss.
  • bring any equipment / material which may cause injury or hurt others.
  • indulging in uncivilized behaviour or using abusive language. 
  • Bullying or using any form of physical / emotional violence against a fellow student or any member of the staff.
  • bursting crackers or throwing colour on one another within or near the school premises.
  • Using unfair means during a test / examination.
  • indulging in any misbehaviour / misdeed directly or online which could be derogatory for the institution or any person.
